Deel vs Remote vs Rippling: what an employer of record actually costs

Published Pricing verified

Hiring one person in another country through an employer of record costs roughly $599 per employee per month at both Deel and Remote. That's the number to anchor on. Rippling runs $499–599 plus modular fees and doesn't publish a firm price.

EOR price /employee/moPricing transparency
Deel$599 (flat)published; free global HRIS included
Remote~$599fully public pricing
Rippling$499–599 + modules + ~$8/user base feenot published — contact sales

Deel and Remote are close enough on price that the decision comes down to other things. Deel's pitch is a flat rate plus a free global HRIS bundled in — people analytics, workflow automation, app provisioning — at no extra cost, so you get more platform for the same money. Remote's pitch is transparency: its entire pricing is public, which means you can build a budget before you ever talk to a salesperson, and there's real value in not being surprised.

Rippling is the hardest to pin down and probably the priciest once you're done. Its EOR base is competitive, but Rippling's whole model is modular — you activate the HR, IT and finance modules you want, each with its own fee, plus a per-user base charge — and the total can run 20–35% higher than the sticker suggests. It makes the most sense if you're already using Rippling for domestic payroll and IT and want international hires in the same system.

For a company just hiring a few people abroad: Remote for the pricing transparency, or Deel for the bundled HRIS if you'll use it — both around $599 and both solid. Rippling if EOR is one piece of a broader Rippling deployment you already run, and you've priced the modules honestly. Note Oyster sits higher at ~$699 if you're getting quotes.
