Pricing pages change quietly. This is the running list of what actually moved in 2026 across the tools we track — dates where we have them, direction always. We update it as things shift; the individual entries carry the detail.
Price increases
- Microsoft 365 business plans — up across the board on 1 July 2026. Business Basic $6→$7, Business Standard $12.50→$14 per user/mo. Announced December 2025.
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — ~34% increase alongside the rebrand. Its 10k-subscriber tier went from roughly $89 to $119/mo.
- ProWritingAid — annual plan $79 → $120 (a 52% jump).
- Todoist Pro — +25%, to $60/year, in late 2025.
- ClickUp Unlimited — $7 → $10 per seat, February 2026.
- Bitwarden Premium (individual) — roughly doubled in January 2026, its first change in about a decade. Family plans largely spared.
- 1Password Families — +$12/year, March 2026.
- Gusto and QuickBooks Payroll — both raised base and per-employee pricing (Gusto March, QuickBooks May 2026).
- Screen Studio — one-time license $89 → $149.
- Mailchimp — free plan cut to 250 contacts, pushing small senders to pay sooner.
- Postman — free plan cut to a single user (1 March 2026); shared workspaces now $19/user/mo.
- ngrok — free tier cut to 1 GB bandwidth and 2-hour sessions, February 2026.
- BigCommerce — added a payment-provider fee in its 2026 update that Shopify doesn't charge.
- BILL — standardized ACH fee at $0.59 per transaction, 1 June 2026.
- Hotjar — full suite now €200+/mo post-Contentsquare; legacy customers report increases.
Price cuts and things getting cheaper
- Google Gemini — entry "AI Plus" tier cut $7.99 → $4.99, June 2026, and folded further into Google One. Gemini also became included in Google Workspace Business Standard at no extra charge.
- Proton Pass — Plus plan roughly halved.
- Affinity (Photo / Designer / Publisher) — made completely free by Canva, announced November 2025. Was a $164.97 one-time bundle.
Model changes (not strictly up or down)
- GitHub Copilot and Cursor — both moved to usage-based "credit" billing in June 2026, replacing fixed request quotas. Heavy agent use can now exceed the base plan price.
- HashiCorp Vault — shifted toward per-client billing after the IBM acquisition; Starter tier cut, HCP Vault Secrets sunset.
- Tailscale — since April 2026, paid tiers bill per assigned seat, not per active user.
- Suno — restructured limits September 2026: free tier lost song downloads entirely.
Shutdowns
- Play.ht — acquired by Meta, shut down 31 December 2025. Accounts and API gone.
- Tome — shut down April 2025; existing decks sunset with it.
- Firebase — removed Cloud Storage from the free Spark plan (February 2026); Firebase Studio discontinued March.
- Udio — not shut down, but downloads disabled during a platform transition as of mid-2026.
