Brevo charges for emails sent. MailerLite charges for contacts stored. Loops charges for contacts too, but with unlimited sends. Which is cheapest depends entirely on your list size versus how often you email it.
| Free tier | Paid entry | Bills on | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brevo | unlimited contacts, 300 emails/day | ~$9/mo | emails sent |
| MailerLite | 1,000 contacts, 12,000 emails/mo | ~$10/mo | contacts stored |
| Loops | up to 1,000 contacts (with branding) | $49/mo | contacts stored, unlimited sends |
Brevo is the pick when you have a large list you email infrequently. You can sit on 100,000 contacts on the free plan without paying anything, because you're only charged when you actually send — up to 300 emails a day for free. It's also more of a full CRM-plus-marketing suite than the other two, with SMS and transactional email in the same platform.
MailerLite is the pick when you email a smaller list often. Its pricing scales with the number of subscribers you keep, so if you send a weekly newsletter to 5,000 people, the send frequency doesn't matter — you pay for the 5,000. Clean interface, strong automation for the price.
Loops is aimed specifically at SaaS companies — product emails, onboarding sequences, lifecycle campaigns — with transparent contact-based pricing and no per-send metering or feature gates on paid plans. The $49 entry is higher than the other two, but for a software company sending a lot of automated transactional-ish email to a moderate list, "unlimited sends" removes a variable you'd otherwise have to watch.
Big list, occasional broadcasts: Brevo. Smaller list, regular newsletter: MailerLite. A SaaS product sending lifecycle email: Loops. All three have free tiers worth testing on your real list before you commit.
